Wayne Carey says the Match Review Panel may have different standards for the stars of the game.

Speaking on Seven's Talking Footy last night, Carey was critical of Freo skipper Nat Fyfe avoiding suspension for an incident with Elliot Yeo during the Western Derby.

“I think the stars of the competition get more leeway than other players,” Carey told 7Mate’s Talking Footy.

“They want the good players out there playing. (The incidents are) line ball, if Nankervis gets a week then I reckon Fyfe gets a week.

“We see it week-in week-out. We saw it a couple of years ago with Buddy Franklin and the late bump — never got suspended. It goes way back to ‘90s, it’s been going on forever.”

Chris Judd supported Duck’s comments this morning on the Hot Breakfast.

“I think it’s true, but I think you're only a pressure point or a chicken wing away from getting smacked to be honest," Judd joked.

“In fairness, Nat Fyfe, every week he has got the whole opposition team running in and elbowing him in the back, whenever he is not looking week in week out.

“I think it is fair we give them a little bit more leeway.”
