Chris Judd says that having a State of Origin series during could only really work before the footy season starts.
Speaking on the Hot Breakfast this morning, Juddy said that extra footy during the regular season would be too much workload for the players.
“[A State of Origin series could only work] if it’s before the season starts,” Juddy said.
“That’s the only time that players want to get games in their legs.
“I really liked State of Origin growing up but as soon as I played AFL, you’re just so focused and driven on what you’re trying to achieve that season that the thought of any extra footy, even if it’s in a split round, especially in a split round because that costs you an opportunity to freshen up.”
