Conor McGregor's Coach John Kavanagh joined the Hot Breakfast this morning and provided an update on the UFC’s champ fight with Floyd Mayweather.

“I believe it will happen. And it will happen this year,” Kavanagh told the Hot Breakfast team.

Luke Darcy then asked if he was confidant that the fight would go ahead.

“100%,” Kavanagh replied.

“We have a game plan, it’s another Mount Everist but being around Conor for the length of time I have, I’ve quit not believing in him,” he said.

“He came to me with this idea, that this is what he wanted to do, I could only shake my head and go ‘OK. Let’s do it again’.”

“For the last decade or so all we’ve heard is ‘you can’t’ but we keep doing it.”

Kavanagh is in Australia to to promote his memoirs “Win or Learn”.
