Triple M's Eddie McGuire this morning called out the AFL over an apparent stuff-up in the finals fixturing.

Speaking to Travis Auld from the AFL - the man behind the fixture in the finals series - Eddie said that the schedule had to be fixed.

LISTEN TO THE AUDIO HERE:

"Travis - two weeks ago you said the reason why you set the first four finals is so that every team got a 7-day break," Eddie started on The Hot Breakfast.

"If you played the Preliminary Final (West Coast vs winner of Semi-Final 1) on the Friday and the other Preliminary Final (Richmond vs winner of Semi-Final 2) on the Saturday, everyone would get a 7-day break.

"You're telling me two weeks ago you're saying 7-day break is everything, and now you're saying that it's not."

Auld explained that the West Coast Preliminary Final will be an afternoon game - meaning that if the winner is Hawthorn or Melbourne, they will be able to travel home that night.

He also explained that Richmond are prioritised in the fixture given they finished top of the ladder.

"Travis, mate - I'm sorry - it's just wrong," Eddie responded.

"You guys have got this one wrong.

"If you flip the Preliminary Finals, everybody gets a 7-day break."
