A French waitress has shown Aussie diners how it's done!

Samia Lila dragging a giant goanna out of Mimosa Wines' on the New South Wales' South Coast on the weekend.

The goanna that came in at around 180cm long went under a table causing frightened diners to start screaming.

Lila then decided to grab it and drag it out.

"I looked at it and thought it was a dog at first! But then I realised it was a goanna," Lila told the Illawarra Mercury.

"Everyone was screaming, so I started screaming too," Ms Lila said.

A video of Ms Lila's brave actions was posted on the restaurant's Facebook page on Sunday and by Tuesday morning it had been shared more than 2300 times and had over 400,000 views.
