Collingwood's debut of their new pre-game 'hype' song for 2018 was met with cringe across the AFL public on Saturday.

Metallica's Nothing Else Matters is not typically recognised as a rousing tune - particularly before a footy game - but the Magpies chose it to use at home games this season:

Speaking on Triple M's The Hot Breakfast this morning, Eddie McGuire said he wasn't aware of the decision.

But that didn't stop him from copping it from all angles by Wil Anderson, Luke Darcy and guest Dave Thornton:

"Even Joffa looked mildly depressed by the end of the song!" Darcy laughed.

"You can't be involved in this one, surely?" he asked of Eddie.

"Ask me tomorrow - I'm going down there this morning," he replied.
