Freo coach Ross Lyon has told Triple M’s Hot Breakfast what unfolded in the final moments of the thriller against the Tigers.

Lyon left the coaches box after Brandon Ellis put Richmond in front with less than 30-seconds to go.

“I uttered a few adjectives, which I’d been doing for previous 15 minutes,” Lyon told Eddie, Mick and Darce.

“The midfield coaches were ducking for cover, in particular. I think they’d kicked 4.2 from clearances. I was just disgusted really that we’d allowed it to happen.

“I walked out, there were a couple of security guys with me and it was all silent.

“I was gutted as I was in the lift.”

Lyon then watched Mundy convert the goal after the siren from a TV in the ‘bowels’ of the MCG when he got out.

He said that despite the win his mood didn’t change a great deal.

“They still copped a spray. I had to vent to let it out.”
