Collingwood star Steele Sidebottom's house in currently "unliveable" following a house fire over the weekend.

Triple M football reporter Tom Browne described the details on The Hot Breakfast this morning, saying the Magpies gun is fine but a little shaken up by the incident.

LISTEN TO THE REPORT HERE:

"(Sidebottom's) inner-eastern suburbs home on Saturday - the back section certainly burnt down," Browne reported.

"It's unliveable I'm told, with fire crews attending on Saturday afternoon.

"I think a fire started around the barbecue, spread to the back and engulfed the rear of the property."

Browne is lead to believe that he was home at the time of the incident but is "100% fine".

Collingwood president Eddie McGuire said that Sidebottom was absent from a 2010 premiership reunion that afternoon following the blaze.
