Following Anthony Mundine's early exit from Channel 10's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Outta Here, Wil Anderson recounted a story from back in the day where they almost came to blows.

LISTEN TO THE CHAT HERE:

Back in the early 2000s, Wil was a regular guest on ABC sports program The Fat - and one week he was on the show alongside 'The Man' himself.

"It was back when he was just starting his boxing career," Wil explained.

"The thing at the time was he was fighting a lot of old people.

"I made a joke on The Fat across from Anthony Mundine that his next fight was against Ruth Cracknell.

"Turns out The Man was not as fond of that joke as I was so he's fired back at me and I - I don't know why, it was a live TV show and I thought it would be funny - I stood up and 'well Anthony, if you want a crack at the title!'

"I thought 'it's fun - this is all theatre'.

"Anyway, he stands up and starts coming towards me.

"I guess he realises eventually that he's on TV so he sits back down - and because I'm an idiot I say this: 'well, we all saw who sat down first!'

"(After the show) the producers have come to me straight away and gone 'we have to escort you to your car.'

"Apparently Anthony and his boys are waiting for you outside!"
