Triple M's Andrew Jarman believes Adelaide skipper Tex Walker won't be available for round one due to injury.

Walker hasn't played a pre-season game for the Crows yet due to a foot injury, which has left him touch and go for the season opener against Essendon.

Jars dropped plenty of mail on the Word on the Street on James Hird, Shane Crawford, Tex Walker and the mid-season draft.

LISTEN TO JARS:

"Our boy, the Adelaide Crows club captain, Tex (Walker), won't be playing round one versus Essendon," he said on Triple M's Rush Hour with Jars and Louie.

"He's not ready. They're not going to risk him because obviously...Etihad Stadium's a pretty hard surface.

"So our captain won't be available for round one."

Walker has previously believed on Triple M he's a "good chance" for round one.

"It’s one of those things that all depends on how I pull up," he said on Tuesday.

"Feet take a little bit longer than other parts of the body, but I’m getting there."
