The fan who slapped Western Bulldogs skipper Easton Wood at Adelaide Oval on Friday night has apologised for the action, saying he made himself "look like a bit of a dick".

LISTEN TO THE CHAT:

The man - who spoke to Triple M's Rush Hour with Jars and Louie on Wednesday - was slapped with a year-long ban from Adelaide Oval for slapping Wood on the bum during the Friday night clash.

He joined the show to express his remorse.

"I actually think it's quite fair (the ban)," he told Triple M.

"I actually regret what I did, and I'd like to take the time to apologise to Easton Wood and my beautiful girlfriend and her family, especially her grandma."

The man - who is a Port Adelaide fan - told Jars and Louie he went to the game with his Crows-supporting girlfriend to support the Bulldogs.

He said he was going for a high five but missed his mark.

"I respect Easton Wood as a player," he said.

"When he came over to the boundary I got a little bit overexcited, obviously, and went for a high five, but at the time he turned around and I just gave him a little tap."
