Summer has well and truely arrived in Adelaide.

If you've battled through today's 33 degree heat in Adelaide, it's only going to get hotter tomorrow for the start of the First Test at Adelaide Oval.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a top of 36 degrees in Adelaide tomorrow before dipping slightly to 33 degrees for Day 2 of the Test.

Fans planning on heading along to Adelaide Oval will at least have options to cool themselves down (mainly icy, cold beer), but spare a thought for the players batting, bowling and fielding out in the heat.

Speaking to Jars and Louie on Triple M Adelaide this afternoon, Adelaide Oval pitch curator Damian Hough predicted both captains would elect to bat if they won the coin toss.

"It's going to be scorcher," Hough said.

"We (the ground staff) try to sit out in it, but I think even some of our boys will try and sneak off (to the bar)."
