Warren Tredrea has named a few players - two from Adelaide and two from Port Adelaide - who were discussed but just fell short of the 2018 All-Australian squad.

TREDDERS NAMES WHO MISSED:

The squad was confirmed on Monday, with Rory Laird picked for Adelaide and Robbie Gray and Tom Jonas in the mix for Port Adelaide.

Tredrea - who was involved in selection - joined Triple M's Rush Hour with Jars and Louie later in the day and named four more form South Australia who just missed the cut.

"They were all discussed," he said.

"But the problem is when your teams finish where we did, and they've been inconsistent without being consistent - and Seedsman's missed a fair amount of footy - to knock blokes out on a wing, you've got to be pretty red hot."
