Triple M Footy newsbreaker Damian Barrett says that Fremantle’s press conference backing Ross Lyon was “a bit late and unconvincing”.

Barret spoke on the Rush Hour with JB and Billy after the press conference today.

Fremantle backed Lyon strongly at the presser amid rumours about his future at the Dockers.

Club President Dale Alcock said that Freo have not considered sacking Lyon.

"Ross is our coach and when asked if we contemplated any change to that, my answer was no,“ he said.

Lyon himself spoke to the press and addressed the allegations of misconduct levelled against against.

“I understand there is a lot of hurt occurring to our club, our members and partners and the wider AFL,” Lyon said.

“In particular, my family, the complainant, and other people with the allegations being aired.

“This really saddens me and I’m really sorry to see this.

“However, I’m not in a position to comment on this any further due to strict privacy that was requested by all parties.
