Chris Scott has hit back at Alastair Clarkson's comments around the ducking debate, saying Clarkson needs to be "really careful" about comparing shrugging tackles with concussion.

LISTEN TO CLARKO VS. SCOTT:

Clarkson said players such as Selwood shouldn't receive free kicks for high contact initiated by shrugging or ducking tackles, noting Selwood had 10 concussions "or thereabouts" in his career.

Scott hit back at those comments on Saturday.

"I think one needs to be really careful not to conflate shrugging a tackle with concussion, especially if you're using alternative facts to support your argument," he said.

"The idea that Joel's had 10 concussions is just wrong. The number's three."

Triple M's Billy Brownless agreed with the misdiagnosis.

"I know Geelong are not happy, especially the medical staff, with that reported 10 concussions, because it is not (10)," he said.

Wayne Carey didn't think Clarkson was in the right.

"If Chris Scott had done that to a Hawthorn player...Alastair Clarkson would be seeing red. I think Alastair Clarkson got this wrong," he said.
