Melbourne Racing Club general manager Jake Norton says the track has been downgraded for the Caulfield Cup.
NORTON ON THE TRACK:
The weather has been pretty disappointing in Melbourne on Saturday morning, with a large band of rain passing across the city.
The Caulfield track was originally rated a Good 4, but Norton joined Triple M's Rocking Horses on Saturday morning and said that was no longer the case.
"There's not great cause for strut at the moment with this inclement weather," he said.
"As you know, the Caulfield track drains incredibly well, so hopefully by race 1 or early in the program we see some improvement."
