If anything sums up how cash-strapped Fitzroy were in their last years in the AFL, it might be this story from Paul Roos on Triple M's Winter Breakfast.
Roos won Fitzroy's best and fairest in his last year at the club in 1994, and was challenging the club to prove they were turning things around off the field.
But there was one element about the award that summed up exactly how things were going.
"So that wasn’t a good sign!" he said when he was telling the story.
"This is fair dinkum."
It was a story that cracked up Lehmo and Seb Costello.
“This club’s in all sorts!” Lehmo laughed.
