'A Couple Of Clubs' Could Throw Stewart Crameri A Lifeline

Western Bulldogs forward Stewart Crameri says he has received interest from "a couple of clubs" if he ends up becoming a delisted free agent.

Crameri confirmed he has not yet been offered another contract from the Bulldogs, with the Dogs to make a decision on whether they will give him another deal after the trade period finishes.

If he is not offered another deal, the 29-year-old could be picked up as a delisted free agent by another club.

He told AFL Trade Radio he is playing a waiting game.

"I had (outside) interest initially, but I think in my case if the club decide not to re-sign me I’ll be a delisted free agent, so clubs will be interested after they find out what the go is with the Western Bulldogs, if they take me or not," he said on Thursday.

"As frustrating as it is, it’s a waiting game, really."

His future could hinge on whether Jake Stringer leaves. 

"If Jake goes, I'm not sure where that sits for me. I assume it would help somewhat," he said.

"I've just got to wait and see and find out probably at the end of trade period, I'll sit down with (list manager) Jason McCartney and see what he thinks."

He said there were other clubs that had expressed interest in giving him a potential lifeline, and that he was happy to play anywhere - even former club Essendon.

"There’s a couple of clubs out there that are interested, so we’ll have to wait and see," he said.

"I’ve considered that (going interstate)...if Essendon were keen to get me back, I'd be happy to walk in the door and see all the boys again, that’s fine.

"(Essendon list manager Adrian Dodoro) did mention it, but he also said I wasn’t a priority, so that’s also a waiting game, I think."
