Fans trying to keep an eye on the Socceroos’ game against Denmark at Optus Stadium copped a shock on Thursday night.

A graphic that the stadium plays when West Coast kicked a goal apparently overrides all the TV programming in the ground, which wouldn’t normally be a problem given most of them are switched on to the coverage of the game.

However on Thursday night during the Eagles’ loss to Essendon, Jamie Cripps’s goal at the 25 minute mark of the last quarter coincided exactly with Mile Jedinak taking a penalty against the Danes.

To make matters worse, the West Coast goal didn’t even matter — it put them 22 down in an eventual 28 point loss.
