Adam Treloar's Emotional Chat With Triple M After Making A Grand Final

Collingwood star Adam Treloar has opened up about the emotional feeling of making a grand final, fearing he wouldn't play again this year with his hamstring injuries as well as some "personal stuff going on".

ADAM TRELOAR'S EMOTIONAL CHAT:

Treloar was impressive again with 19 disposals and a crucial last-quarter goal to steer Collingwood towards their first grand final appearance in seven years, beating Richmond by 39 points.

He joined Triple M's Neroli Meadows after the game and said it was an emotional feeling, fearing he wouldn't play again this year with his hamstring injuries as well as some "personal stuff going on".

"To deliver it on a big stage like tonight against the best team, who's been the best team the last two years, it's just really emotional," he told Triple M.

"I obviously did my hammy this year, but other than that, I had a few things going on.

"There was a chance I wasn’t going to play footy again this year away from my hamstrings, just personal stuff going on.

"It’s quite emotional because when footy gets taken away from you, because it did with my hamstrings, I didn’t think I was going to get back, especially not into this position.

"To get here, it’s made me just appreciate football just so, so friggin’ much. And my teammates, I just love them all.

"Win or lose next week, the amount of pride that I have in this footy club and this group, I can’t really put it into words."

He couldn't describe the feeling in the final minutes of knowing Collingwood was going to make it.

"I don’t know what to say, Nez," he said.

"With about eight minutes to go and we were up by 40 or whatever it was, we sort of knew we were going to make it.

"I said to Josh Thomas out there, ‘mate, we’re playing in a grand final. What the heck?’"
