Adelaide midfielder Matt Crouch certainly can’t be accused of not trying his guts out during Saturday’s grand final against Richmond at the MCG.

Not too many Crows could hold their heads high after their thumping 48-point loss, but Crouch never gave up, accumulating 37 disposals which is the equal biggest tally in a grand final since 2003.

Brisbane Lions champion Simon Black racked up 39 touches 14 years ago in what ended up being a Norm Smith Medal performance that helped his team crush Collingwood by 50 points.

Since then, nobody has racked up more disposals in a grand final than Crouch, Kane Cornes (2007) or Jordan Lewis (2014) who all tallied 37 disposals.

Crouch also registered 12 contested possessions, five clearances and five tackles on Saturday in what was a tireless display.
