Adelaide defender Jake Kelly has been taken to hospital after copping an eye injury in the Crows’ game against Essendon at Adelaide Oval.

Kelly was taken to hospital during the third quarter as a precautionary measure, as reported by Triple M’s boundary rider Rhett Biglands.

“Adelaide will play with three on the bench for the remainder of the match,” Biglands said.

“Jake Kelly’s gone to hospital boys, he’s had an eye injury.

“It’s just precautionary at the moment, the medical staff are saying they need him to get it checked out but he should be ok.”

The Crows are flying despite losing Kelly, they lead Essendon 17.10 (109) to 10.9 (69) at three quarter time.

Taylor Walker and Eddie Betts have booted five goals apiece.
