Adelaide has confirmed the fan who made contact with Western Bulldogs skipper Easton Wood over the fence has been banned from attending games for the rest of the season.

Adelaide, alongside the Stadium Management Authority, completed an investigation into the incident, which saw a fan lean over the fence and gave Wood a bum tap.

The SMA banned the fan, who was not an Adelaide member, from games for the rest of the year, while he received a warning from the Crows.

Adelaide's club statement:

The Adelaide Football Club along with the Stadium Management Authority have completed an investigation into a crowd behaviour incident at Adelaide Oval on Friday night.

In the incident, a fan reached over the fence and made contact with Western Bulldogs player Easton Wood.

The investigation has identified the fan, who is not a Club member and had borrowed the ticket from an acquaintance.

The SMA has banned the person involved from attending AFL games at Adelaide Oval for the rest of the season.

The Crows member who lent their ticket is extremely remorseful the incident occurred and has received a warning from the Club.

The Adelaide Football Club and Stadium Management Authority encourages Members who lend their tickets to others to remind them about responsible behaviour while attending games.

The AFL was kept informed during the entire investigation and is satisfied with the outcome.

The Club and the SMA will be making no further comment.
