Port Adelaide midfielder Sam Powell-Pepper will serve an extra one week suspension, with the AFL handing down further punishment.

Powell-Pepper will be ineligible for this week's clash with North Melbourne after the AFL determined he engaged in inappropriate behaviour earlier this month.

The AFL found Powell-Pepper was "intoxicated in a public place" and made "inappropriate contact with a female".

As he has already served two weeks on the sidelines, the AFL has elected to suspend him for one further match.

He will be eligible to play in the SANFL effective immediately, meaning he will feature for Port Adelaide's SANFL side in their Anzac Day clash with Sturt today.

The club has accepted the sanction.

Triple M's Wayne Carey has slammed the attention given to Lindsay Thomas for his bump, calling it a "witch hunt".
