The AFL has confirmed that live trading will be introduced for this year’s national draft.

The innovation means clubs will be able to trade picks from early October until late November.

For the first time in its history, the draft will be held over two days (November 22 and 23).

Meanwhile, the AFL national draft is headed back to Victoria for the first time since 2009 with confirmation Etihad Stadium will host the event.

The last eight drafts have been held on the Gold Coast (four times), Sydney (three times) and Adelaide (once).
