Suns star fined for head-high hit

Gold Coast superstar Tom Lynch is free to play in the Suns’ opening round clash against North Melbourne after avoiding suspension for his head-high hit on Brisbane’s Mitch Robinson.

Lynch has been offered a $2000 fine for engaging in rough conduct with Robinson during Gold Coast’s seven-point win over the Lions in their practice match on Sunday.

Hawthorn recruit Jarman Impey will also be available for his new team’s round one meeting with Collingwood after he too was offered a fine ($1500) for headbutting Carlton’s Jed Lamb on Saturday night.

Collingwood ruckman Brodie Grundy was spared a suspension as well for his huge bump on Western Bulldogs forward Tory Dickson. Grundy can accept a $2000 fine.

Meanwhile, Essendon goalsneak Josh Green became the first player fined ($1000) for staging by match review officer Michael Christian.

In the AFL Women's, Adelaide are breathing a huge sigh of relief with both Chelsea Randall and Justine Mules free to line up in their massive final round clash with Collingwood on Sunday.

The Crows need to beat the Magpies to be any chance of qualifying for the grand final and that job will be made a bit easier given Randall and Mules only received reprimands for both striking Fremantle's Lisa Webb in Darwin on the weekend.
