Hawthorn tagger Daniel Howe is in serious danger of missing the rest of the home-and-away season after being charged twice by the match review officer.

Howe can accept a two-game suspension for striking Carlton superstar Patrick Cripps while he has also been referred directly to the tribunal for tripping Cripps’ teammate Zac Fisher.

Fisher suffered a broken fibula in the incident and will miss the rest of the year.

Brisbane’s Tom Cutler is also set for a stint on the sidelines after being offered a two-match ban for engaging in rough conduct on Adelaide’s Lachlan Murphy.

The news is better for Geelong spearhead Tom Hawkins and West Coast captain Shannon Hurn who have both been cleared by Michael Christian for incidents involving Melbourne’s Bailey Fritsch and the Bulldogs’ Mitch Honeychurch respectively..

Christian said Hawkins made contact to Fritsch with an open hand in a pushing motion to the chest area, with incidental high contact made at the time.

It was Christian’s view that it was not a reportable offence.

Christian explained that Hurn took up a stationary position as Honeychurch came towards him and it was his view that Hurn did not have a realistic alternative way to approach the contest.

Brisbane pair Daniel McStay ($2000) and Jake Barrett ($2000) have been offered sanctions along with Hawthorn’s Ricky Henderson ($2000) for engaging in rough conduct on Adelaide pair Luke Brown and Rory Laird, as well as Carlton’s Levi Casboult, respectively.

Star Bulldog Jack Macrae was slugged with a $2000 fine for striking Shuey and fellow Bulldog Josh Dunkley can accept a $1000 sanction for making careless contact with an umpire.

Meanwhile, Fremantle’s Brandon Matera has been cleared of contact he made with Essendon star Zach Merrett.

Christian explained that Merrett was pushed in the back with Matera in a near-stationary position in front of him and it was his view that Matera did not elect to bump and did not make forceful contact from front-on.

Brisbane’s Dan McStay was also cleared of contact made with Adelaide’s Tom Doedee.

Christian said Doedee lowered himself in a bid to avoid McStay's tackle, who made high contact and it was his view that McStay made a legitimate attempt to tackle.
