Carlton young star Charlie Curnow has been slapped with a one-game ban for striking Gold Coast defender Steven May.
If Curnow accepts the ban from match review officer Michael Christian, he will be unavailable to play against GWS on Sunday.
Meanwhile, May has also received a one-game suspension for engaging in rough conduct against Curnow’s brother Ed in the same game at Metricon Stadium on Saturday night.
In better news for the Blues, superstar midfielder Patrick Cripps has been cleared of contact made with David Swallow.
Christian explained that Swallow attempted to take possession, Cripps came to his side, wrapped his right arm around Swallow and tried to knock the ball with his left hand.
The momentum of both players saw them go to ground and Christian said it wasn’t a dangerous tackle.
Adelaide defender Kyle Cheney has also been offered a one-game sanction for engaging in rough conduct against Melbourne’s Bayley Fritsch.
Port Adelaide midfielder Steven Motlop can accept a pair of $1500 fines for misconduct against Bulldogs duo Jack Macrae and Zaine Cordy, while his Power teammate Tom Rockliff has also been offered a $1500 fine for misconduct against Bulldogs backman Marcus Adams.
Meanwhile, Brisbane Lions battering ram Mitch Robinson can accept a $3500 sanctionf or engaging in rough conduct against Geelong super Paddy Dangerfield and West Coast’s Willie Rioli has been fined $2000 for striking North Melbourne onballer Ben Cunnington.
