Former AFL diversity officer Ali Fahour has pleaded guilty to to recklessly causing injury after the on-field punch that got him sacked earlier this year.

Two other charges stemming from the same incident were withdrawn.

Fahour face Heidelberg Magistrates’ Court today, charged with recklessly causing injury, intentionally causing injury, and unlawful assault.

The second two charges were dismissed.

He was playing for West Preston-Lakeside in the Northern Football League when amateur vision appeared to catch him landing a punch on Whittlesea player Dale Saddington.

Fahour was initially given a red card and automatic two match ban, before the NFL tribunal increased his ban to 14 matches.
