Former Northern Blues skipper Andre Gianfagna will make his umpiring debut this weekend.
Gianfagna, who spent time on Melbourne's list as a rookie, will follow in the likes of Jordan Bannister and Leigh Fisher in transitioning from playing to umpiring.
His first assignment will be umpiring this weekend's clash between North Melbourne and Carlton.
Gianfagna quit the Blues at the end of 2013 to take up umpiring.
