Australia has picked Brendon Goddard as the goalkeeper for the upcoming International Rules series against Ireland.

Goddard will take over from former Essendon team mate Dustin Fletcher, who last stood between the sticks in the 2015 series.

Fletcher played in net for the Aussies eight times between 2005 and 2015.

Australia has named a very strong side to take on the Irish, with Brownlow Medallists Patrick Dangerfield, Nat Fyfe and Gary Ablett joining other stars like Eddie Betts, Josh Kelly, Chad Wingard and Joel Selwood.

The first match is at Adelaide Oval on November 12th, with the second at Domain Stadium on the 18th.
