West Coast has announced Matt Priddis has signed a new contract.

The Brownlow Medallist has signed a one-year deal, taking him until the end of 2018.

Priddis said he was pleased to get another year under his belt.

"We were always making sure, first and foremost, that the body was feeling good," he told westcoasteagles.com.au.

"Mentally I’m wanting to improve, I am always looking to get better, and I am really pleased to get the contract done at this time of the year."

The 32-year-old has averaged 26 disposals, 6.9 tackles and 4.6 clearances a game this season.

It will likely take his career tally beyond 250 games.

"There is some good chemistry building in the group; Mitch (Sam Mitchell) has brought a lot to this playing group, so I’m learning a lot from him," he said.

"Also we have got some young guys coming through who are playing great footy – Dom Sheed and Liam Duggan.

"We have a good blend of experience and youth coming through and I am really enjoying that."
