West Coast seems to have been dealt a huge injury blow, with ruckman Scott Lycett suffering an injury setback.

Lycett was making his comeback from a posterior cruciate ligament tear late in the 2016 season, playing a pre-season match for reserves outfit East Perth in a last-minute bid to get himself fit for round one.

But his first game back from that injury seems to have ended on a sour note, with the Eagles tweeting he left the field injured in the first half.

The type and severity of the injury is unclear at this stage.

Lycett was originally cited to play 60 minutes for East Perth on Sunday and a full match for round one of the WAFL season next week.

West Coast will be sweating on the fitness of Lycett, with star ruck Nic Naitanui to miss most of the season with a torn ACL suffered in last year's finals.

More to come
