Carlton have made a late change ahead of their MCG clash with Essendon today.

Utlity Charlie Curnow has had to pull out with a quad injury.

He has been replaced in the selected side with former Docker and Giant Rhys Palmer.

Palmer came to the club in the off-season, with pick 135 going to the Giants in the trade.

He played 69 games for GWS between 2012 and 2016, and 53 for Freo between 2008 and 2011.

He won the Rising Star award in 2008 after Freo took him with pick seven in the 2007 draft.
