Richmond player Brandon Ellis wore a black armband in tribute to childhood friend Euriydice Dixon in the Tigers’ clash against Geelong today.

Dixon’s body was found in Princes Park on Wednesday morning after she was killed walking home from a comedy gig she had done at Highlander Bar.

She was just 900m from her house.

Ellis and Dixon grew up in the same housing commission flats in Carlton North.

Ellis and Dixon also attended Princes Hill Secondary College in Carlton North together.

19-year-old Broadmeadows man, Jaymes Todd, was charged with one count of murder and one count of rape on Thursday.

He will appear in court again on October 3.
