Former Carlton star Brendan Fevola might have re-opened the tanking debate with a few tongue-in-cheek comments.

On Dead Set Legends, where Fevola stars, he paid tribute to Bryce Gibbs, who played his 200th game for Carlton this weekend.

But he joked about how much he wanted to play with Gibbs, such was his talent at a young age.

"I was watching a game where he was featuring for Glenelg," Fevola said. "This young 17-year-old was running around in the midfield - he had 44 (disposals) and kicked six from the midfield."

"I woke up in the morning and said to my wife Alex, I said...I hope we don't win another game for the rest of the year," he laughed.

Fevola did note Carlton were already last upon hearing about Gibbs' standout game.

"Funny enough, we picked him and we finished last, funny that," he joked.
