Collingwood weren't the only team progressing to the grand final from Friday's preliminary final - the AFL has also given the nod to the umpire group to officiate in the decider.

Brett Rosebery, Shaun Ryan and Matt Stevic have been selected as the whistle-blowers for the biggest match of the year.

The trio have 18 grand finals between them, with Stevic chosen as a grand final umpire for the fifth straight season.

Stevic is the four-time reigning All Australian umpire.

The umpiring team also reflects the Victoria-Western Australia split of the grand final; Rosebery is from the Perth suburb of Armadale, with Ryan and Stevic hailing from regional Victoria.

The trio were praised for their performance in Friday's preliminary final in which Collingwood downed Richmond to advance to the decider against West Coast.

Ray Chamberlain is on hand to officiate as the emergency.

Nathan Doig, Chris Gordon, Michael Marantelli and Mark Thomson are the boundary umpires.

Steve Williams and Steve Piperno have been selected as the goal umpires.
