Triple M Footy’s Brian Taylor believes that Geelong superstar Gary Ablett is “picking and choosing” which contests he involves himself in.

Ablett played one of the worst games of his incredible career on the weekend, registering just 17 disposals, one tackle and one clearance as the Cats suffered a shock 34-point loss to Essendon.

And BT believes Ablett isn’t going in for the hard ball as much as he possibly should be.

“It just looks to me that he doesn’t get to a lot of super hard contests because he’s worried about his body, and particularly his shoulders, as to whether he can stand up in that,” BT told Triple M’s Rush Hour during The Midweek Rub

“And that’s smart in one sense that you’re trying to stay on the field, but I don’t know if you can get away with it.”

Ablett has a chance to redeem himself against Carlton this weekend in what will be his first game back at Kardinia Park since leaving the Cats back in 2010.
