Brian Taylor dropped a bombshell on the Saturday Rub today, accusing a current AFL coach of getting involved in a confrontation during a game.
BT said that a sponsor had entered the coach’s box and that things got heated when the sponsor started giving the coach advice.
“This is allegedly, all of this,” BT advised before he started speaking on the subject.
“A coach early in the year. A sponsor early in the year. A game early in the year.
“A sponsor was in the coach’s box, most sponsors say nothing in the box.
“Frustration got the better of the invited sponsor in the box. He spoke. He was warned to say no more.
“Coach loses patience with the sponsor in the box and contact occurred… Return contact from the sponsor.”
The story gets more intriguing from there.
“Sponsor denies being in the box even though he was,” BT said.
“And all sides have closed ranks.”
BT then closed ranks himself, refusing to answer any more questions and getting coy.
“Are you saying, Brian, a coach has clipped a sponsor who then clipped the coach back?” JB asked.
“No, I’m not,” BT replied.
“I’m just reporting the facts.”
Wayne Carey and Damian Barrett tried to force more out of BT, asking if the game was home and away or the pre-season and trying to find out if the team was Victorian or not.
But BT wasn’t having it, refusing to talk.
“I don’t know who it is,” he said.
“All I know is it’s happened.”
We might hear more about this one!
