When Carlton face Port Adelaide this weekend, they will be aiming to avoid a very unwanted piece of club history.

With just one win from their first 13 games, another loss to the Power at Etihad Stadium would ensure Carlton’s worst ever start to a season (1-13) since the VFL/AFL formed in 1897.

Their previous worst start to a year after 14 matches was 2-12, achieved four times in 1897, 1901, 2002 and 2006.
