EARLIER:

Carlton’s fast start to their game against Fremantle at Domain Stadium has been marred by what looks like a serious knee injury to key back Sam Rowe.

Rowe initially injured his right knee in the first term when Nat Fyfe fell across his leg when he was kicking the footy.

He went off the ground for treatment and came back with the joint strapped.

He then crumpled without any physical contact in a marking contest late in the same quarter, and went down clutching the same knee in pain.

He again had to leave the field and could not return.

Carlton dominated the rest of the quarter to lead by 20 points at quarter time, but Freo have pegged them back in the second.

The Blues lead 5.6 (36) to 5.4 (34) at half time.
