Clayton Oliver has explained last night's incident involving Will Schofield, saying the elbow stunned him and that he doesn't want to "look like a faker".
Schofield was reported for striking at half time, but Oliver came under fire for going to ground and playing the incident up.
The 19-year-old said the elbow caught him by surprise and "rocked" him.
"(I) just sort of hit him on the chest, and I wasn't really expecting it (the elbow)," he told Channel 7 after the match.
"It just clipped me and it rocked me a little bit. Just sort of fell backwards, I wasn't really ready for it."
Oliver suggested it was more a glancing blow than anything.
"(It) probably doesn't look that bad," he said.
"But I guess I wasn't ready for it. I don't want to look like a faker or anything like that. It just rocked me and I wasn't ready for it."
