Collingwood has confirmed young midfielder James Aish has fractured his cheekbone.

Aish was involved in a head clash with Hawthorn's Daniel Howe during the third quarter of last night's 18-point win.

A Collingwood spokesperson confirmed the injury to AFL.com.au on Sunday morning.

Fellow midfielder Adam Treloar suggested Aish was likely to miss around a month of football.

"He went back to the VFL earlier in the year and found some really good form," he told Fox Footy on Sunday.

"He's extremely courageous and it shows with that act that he did there.

"We wish him the best and I think he's going to be back in hopefully three or four weeks' time."
