They think they can still make finals?

Collingwood’s finals dream is all but over for another season, but someone forgot to tell their medical department.

While clubs like the Brisbane Lions and Carlton have already listed seriously injured players as out for the season, it appears as though Collingwood are running with a delusional injury list.

Rather than ruling youngster Adam Oxley out for the season, the Magpies hope he will overcome a groin/hip injury in 10-11 weeks, making him available for a semi-final or preliminary final appearance.

The only problem is, the 15th-placed Magpies are closer to the wooden spoon than they are the top eight.

With just five wins to their credit, Collingwood will need to win their final seven games to make the finals.

But if they pull off that miracle then, yes, Oxley might just feature in the finals after all.

Collingwood's full injury list heading into Round 17 looks like this:

Ben Crocker (Leg) 1 week

Jeremy Howe (Calf tightness) Test

Levi Greenwood (Suspension) Available round 18

Mitch McCarthy (Foot) 4-6 weeks

Darcy Moore (Hamstring) Test

Adam Oxley (Groin/hip) 10-11 weeks

Tom Phillips (Illness) Test
