Collingwood Sign Former Olympic Hockeyroo

Commonwealth Games gold-medallist and Hockeyroo Georgina Parker has signed on to Collingwood’s 2018 AFL Women’s team.

“I believe in the vision of the Collingwood coaching staff and think there are a lot of opportunities when playing for a Melbourne-based club so it seems like a great fit,” Parker told Collingwood Media.

“Growing up I was the only girl at footy clinics so I’m over the moon to have an opportunity to play the sport I have always been so passionate about.

“Coming from a field sport with a lot of space like footy, I think my awareness of space and ability to break lines will be a key factor in my game.”

Parker retired from the Hockeyroos after the Rio Olympics.
