Cops Are Searching For A Country Footy Player Who Fled A Final Halfway Through To Avoid Arrest

Police in NSW are searching for a country footy player who bailed on his club’s semi-final to avoid arrest, according to Fairfax Media.

Jarrah Maksymow was playing for Henty in the Hume Football League semi-finals against Brock-Burrum when cops arrived to arrest him on charges of assault, break-and-enter and driving offences.

The officers on the scene agreed to wait until the end of the game to make the arrest.

Maksymow starred in the first half but was nowhere to be found after the half time interval, leaving the cops empty-handed and Henty a player short.

Henty’s coach admitted that Maksymow’s exit was distracting but refused to use it as an excuse for the team’s eventual 33-point loss.

He has been on the run since Saturday.

Maksymow — who is currently serving an intensive corrections order — had been playing for Bacchus Marsh until he left the club for personal reasons.

Eddie McGuire blasted AFL executive Travis Auld over the finals fixture this morning.
