Dale Morris will have surgery on his knee, but the injury is unrelated to his partially torn anterior cruciate ligament.

Morris will go under the knife to repair the meniscus in his knee, with the club opting for minor arthroscopic surgery.

The Dogs have not put a time frame on his return, but believe it won't be an "extended period".

“Dale has been dealing with some soreness in his knee, which he has been managing for the last couple of weeks and is unrelated to the ACL injury,” Western Bulldogs medical services manager Chris Bell said.

“We’re not expecting him to be unavailable for an extended period, but we won’t have an exact time frame for his recovery until after the surgery.”
