Dale Thomas Withdrawal From Carlton Side

Dale Thomas has been withdrawn from the Carlton side for their clash with the Western Bulldogs this afternoon.

Carlton said his omission from the line-up is due to calf tightness.

Liam Sumner comes back into the side after being dropped in Round 15.

Billie Smedts has been brought into the Carlton squad as an emergency.

Thomas has been unable to get much continuity in his footy this season, with poor form and injury limiting his influence.

The withdrawal comes after an impressive run of form for the 30-year-old.

The Bulldogs remain unchanged.
