Triple M Footy’s Damian Barrett believes the time has come for Sydney star Kieren Jack to be dropped from the team.

Jack has struggled so far this season, averaging just 16 touches a game, and he had another quiet match against GWS on the weekend with only 12 disposals – his lowest tally in a game where he wasn’t injured since the 2013 preliminary final.

It’s a far cry from the consistent output he’s been known for in recent years. He has averaged 24 possessions a game over the previous five seasons.

“He’s the one, isn’t he,” Damo said of Jack while speaking on Triple M’s Rush Hour.

“I would think that (coach) John Longmire would now have to leave him out of the team - whether he feels he needs to get a run in the NEAFL or just has a break.

“I don’t think they can go into another game with him unfortunately.”

The Swans are enduring their worst start to a season since 1993, having not won a game in their first five outings.

Their next match is against another struggling outfit in Carlton at the MCG on Saturday.
