Triple M Footy’s Damian Barrett is convinced that Cyril Rioli’s management will be receiving calls from all 18 clubs throughout the post-season enquiring about the retired superstar’s availability for next year.

Rioli, 29, brought an end to his stellar career in July after four premierships, a Norm Smith Medal, three All-Australians, 189 games and 275 goals with the Hawks across 11 seasons.

But Damo says that won’t be enough to put off any AFL club from seeing if he wants to make his retirement a shortlived one.

“What I’m convinced of is the phone call being made - and not just one phone call being made by each club, but multiple phone calls being made right up until the expiry point of trade period and the draft period because he can be drafted,” Damo told Triple M’s Rush Hour during The Midweek Rub

James Brayshaw added: “Clarko (Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson) will head up there, he’ll take up fishing and go to the Tiwi Islands and we’ll see him on a little tinny.”
